Tripod projector screens are available in the following ration sizes:

Tripod Projector Screens Ratio Sizes

1:1 aspect ratio - square

The 1:1 aspect ratio was originally designed for use with overhead projectors (OHP) where the image projected is also square so that the image fills the whole screen.

4:3 aspect ratio - Rectangle

Televisions and P.C monitors are not actually a true square shape, they are slightly rectangular and have a 4:3 aspect ratio. This simply means that the width of the screen being 4 parts long to 3 parts high. Most projectors display this rectangular image and using a rectangular screen allows the image to fill the whole area. For example if you project onto a square ratio you will see a unused area at both the top and bottom parts of the projector screen.

16:9 aspect ratio - Widescreen

This is the shape of a the much popular widescreen televisions. Some projectors, specifically designed for video use, can project an image of this shape. If the image shape size and screen size match, then you can completely fill the screen with the image giving a ultra modern widescreen viewing.
